Delivery information

This policy applies to orders placed directly through the Make Believe Ideas website. Available services, prices and delivery estimates are shown at checkout and may vary by destination, order size and carrier availability.

Free standard UK delivery

Orders of £20 or more qualify for free standard delivery to eligible mainland UK addresses. The qualifying basket value is calculated after discounts and before any delivery charge. The free-delivery option is applied automatically at checkout where available.

Standard UK delivery

Standard delivery is normally £3.95. We aim to dispatch orders within two working days. Standard orders are normally sent using Royal Mail 2nd Class or an equivalent service. Please allow up to five working days after dispatch for delivery.

Next-working-day UK delivery

Next-working-day delivery is normally £5.99 where offered. Select “Next Working Day” at checkout.

Eligible mainland UK orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are intended for delivery on the next working day. Orders placed after 2pm, at weekends or on UK bank holidays will be processed on the next working day. A signature or other delivery confirmation may be required.

UK destinations with additional requirements

Delivery to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, UK islands and other remote areas may take longer, may not qualify for every service and may incur an additional charge. Any available option and charge will be displayed at checkout or confirmed before we accept the order.

International delivery

International delivery is not available through every checkout market or to every address. Before placing an international order, please email enquiries@makebelieveideas.com. We will confirm whether delivery is possible, the available service and the shipping charge.

Unless we expressly state otherwise, customers receiving an international delivery are responsible for any import duties, taxes, customs charges or local handling fees. Customs checks may delay delivery.

Delivery estimates and delays

Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed date. We are not responsible for a delay caused by an event outside our reasonable control, but this does not remove any mandatory right you may have if delivery is materially delayed or does not take place.

Deliveries are generally made Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays. During busy periods, severe weather, industrial action or carrier disruption, dispatch and delivery may take longer.

Incorrect addresses and failed delivery

Please check the delivery address before submitting your order. Contact us promptly if it is incorrect. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered fulfilment. If a parcel is returned because the supplied address was incomplete or incorrect, or delivery was repeatedly refused or missed, we may charge the reasonable cost of redelivery where the law permits.

Missing or damaged deliveries

If an order has not arrived within the expected period, or arrives damaged, contact orders@makebelieveideas.com with your order number and relevant details. Risk in goods passes to a consumer when the goods are delivered to the consumer or a person identified by them, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
