This is the very coolest idea! It's not a fluffy book ... it's a rubbery one! And, the kids just love it! The tummies, the hats, the scarves: all have different silicon features. This makes them so tactile! And, the illustrations are so bright, so bold, and so silly! The colors are joyful and the design is adorable! Moreover, I love the counting-down concept! One by one, a penguin "leaves the book." One goes to find a snack, when is tagged out in a snowball fight, etc. It's fun to guess how one more penguin will disappear. And, then, like all good similar books, all penguins are reunited in the end.This is so sweet. It is wonderful for an infant or toddler. Fun to read aloud, fun to touch ... absolutely delightful!

Never Touch the Pesky Penguins is a cute hardcover book. It features five penguins and each page is a fun countdown. This is a great book to read to babies and toddlers. It has nice vivid illustrations. My 9 month old granddaughter enjoyed feeling the different textures on each page. My five year old was able to read this easily and thought it was a fun little book. I think At under 10 dollars it is a great value. I would recommend to others. It arrived quickly and damage free. It is a nice durable book.

These adorable penguins are constantly getting into some very silly antics, and this book is such a delight! It features a creative design with squishy, textured silicone penguins that kids will love to touch and explore. The story on each page removes one penguin, with a rhyme about their antics. The story and the penguins are an entertaining experience for young children.Will be given to nieces for Christmas- They're 5 and 2 and this will be fun for both of them.

This is a really cute book about 5 pesky penguins who get into mischief. It is a very short and simple book, each page one penguin goes off leaving the remaining penguins to continue their adventures. It is a good counting book, starting at 5 then 4, 3, 2, 1 and then back to 5 again at the end. Each penguin has a texture to them (hat, scarf, belly, shirt) adding a different element to the story. The designs are bright and eyecatching, cute and fun to look at. I think the only thing I didn't really like about the book is some of the words are a little "big" for the age group of this book. "Scoff" "Fondue" "Mayhem" "Disrupt" "Wreak" "Havoc" are the ones I found that would be the most unfamiliar/confusing for a younger audience and definitely not words that are easily read by young readers either. Other than that though it is a cute and fun book for parents to read to their kiddos and for kiddos to explore with their eyes and fingers.

This board book is a good size for small hands, and the silicone parts each have a different color and texture, which is adorable and interactive. I love the physical layout of the book, and even my 10-year-old enjoyed reading this one because of the fun textures. However (and I'm aware I might be being picky), I don't love the idea of just watching animals do naughty things. It's not my preferred type of story to read with my kids. I'm still giving this four stars, though, because it's a good price, good quality, and provides sensory interaction.

I really enjoy reading books from this series to my little one. She loves them, and she loves the tactile parts and playing with them. The colors are always so vibrant and pretty. The designs are very cute. The words in this one are a bit more advanced than others (mostly due to not being used as much) but she still really enjoyed it.

This book is absolutely adorable! My grandson loves books, and this one quickly became a favorite. We enjoyed reading it together, but his favorite part was definitely the textured sections on each page. The story is easy to read and engaging, and the thick board pages are perfect for little hands to turn on their own. The colors and characters throughout the book are bright and eye catching, keeping his attention the whole time. It’s been a wonderful addition to our collection of children’s books.

This review is for Never Touch the Pesky PenguinsMy granddaughter loves the Never Touch hard books. Each page is hard cardboard that is very sturdy. She loves the bright colors and interesting textures in the books. The illustrations are always very nicely done. The story is so-so, but she really enjoys the tactile experience a lot. She's learning her colors, so this arrived just in time for her to show off her new skill. These books hold up to a lot of tough handling. They're great for first books. We're very happy to add this fun group of Pesky Penguins to our Never Touch library selection.

We’re big fans of the Never Touch series, and while this book is still fun, I do think it falls a little short compared to the others. Most of the books play into the humor of telling kids not to touch something with some rhyme while being a touch-and-feel book, which is always a hit. This one leans more into counting with no real need to be a textured book, and while that isn’t bad, it feels like it’s missing some of the playful joy and irony that make the series so great.The counting is fairly standard but the wording has me tripping up some as slightly nonsensical — penguins disappear one by one and then come together at the end — but it doesn’t really encourage counting on each page as much as I’d hoped. Just feels like its missing something basic. The touch-and-feel elements are still fun, and the book quality is solid, though like any children’s book, ours has taken a beating from some enthusiastic readers.Overall, it’s still worth having if you’re collecting the series or want a counting-focused version, but I definitely prefer some of the other Never Touch titles.

Both of my daughters, ages 3 and 7, really enjoyed this little book! They are big fans of the Never Touch series. My three-year-old especially loved feeling the textured penguins, while my seven-year-old had fun reading the story to her younger sister, though she did stumble over a few words. The story is cute and fun, and the illustrations are colorful and well done. A great read for siblings to enjoy together!

This is a fantastic interactive book for toddlers and babies!My son loves reading this book (3yo) and will want to read it over and over again.Great illustrations and story line perfect for little ones understanding.I highly recommend this book to anyone that has babies and toddlers.

This book helps with rhyming, counting and has excellent tactile features. Each penguin has its own rubber accessory. Each one has a different and a unique color. The book is a comfortable size to share with a little one. The pages are chunky and slick for easy wiping as needed. It would make a fantastic Christmas present for a young one. It’s a pleasing, mischievous story. The penguins are very lovable!

This book seems kinda random and doesn't really have a storyline, but surprisingly, it held my eight month olds attention really well. He loves books, but is very selective on which ones he likes. He looks at each page as I read the book and seem very interested in the textured "touch" area's of the pages. I've never seen silicone touch and feel book, and I have to say, I really like it. I plan on ordering more books from this series for my little guy! I did take a star off simply because of there not actually being a storyline.

The Pesky Penguins is indeed a nice little book for even babies to get involved with a book. The pages are sturdy and board pages with lots of color. The illustrations are cute and give plenty of opportunity for interaction if the reader takes the time to help baby/toddler interact, "Which penguin has a yellow belly? Is the octopus happy or sad? Look at the shark! Are you scared?" for example. The sensory aspect is cute, but I don't feel much difference in the feel one pattern texture to the other.What really surprised me is the vocabulary aimed at babies and toddlers. Who uses scoff fondue, wreak havoc, and mayhem with children who are at an age where much more concrete and common vocabulary is what they need for their language acquisition? So while the book does introduce counting and it does encourage a love of books because of how engaging the illustrations, board pages, and touch textures are, it doesn't strike me as the best type of book for babies and very young children.
