We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accounts Assistant with a meticulous and organised nature and a love of spreadsheets!

This diverse role would be a great development opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for their next career step, with an interest in developing in to a Management Accountant role and would suit someone who is highly organised, a team player and loves a challenge – as well as a spreadsheet!


Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Finance and Sales teams, your duties and responsibilities as the Senior Accounts Assistant include:

  • Production of accurate and timely weekly and monthly sales reports, including commentary and analysis
  • Undertake variance analysis and bridging to budget/forecast during budgeting and forecasting process
  • Manage the month end process (4 days)
  • Solely manage accruals including manual postings and reversals
  • Completion of group reporting schedules
  • Responsible for producing quarterly stock provision reports and returns provisions
  • Responsible for maintaining CoOp and Markdown accruals schedules
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Sales tax returns (VAT / GST / Irish VAT)
  • Supporting the budget and forecast process
  • Support Accounts Payable and Receivable as required
  • Review and improve financial controls and processes
  • Supporting with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Tracking breakdown of costs and sales with analysis tools
  • Bank reconciliations for multiple banks in multiple foreign currencies
  • Liaise with external audit

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in a similar hands-on role
  • Manage workload when working to tight deadlines
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with other teams
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of NetSuite or Sage 200 preferable
  • Actively studying and nearing finalist stage (ACCA / CIMA)
