JOB OVERVIEW

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sales Support member to join our Sales Team. This varied role would suit an enthusiastic individual with administrative experience keen to develop their career within publishing and sales.

Reporting to the Sales Director, this is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and ambitious individual with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will be committed to providing a high-quality support service to the customer-focussed Sales Team. This role offers full training with the potential to develop into an account management role.

DUTIES

Duties and responsibilities as Sales Support include:

  • Being a primary contact for the Sales Team for all general enquiries via telephone, email and our company websites
  • Creating and maintaining stock and order forms
  • Producing sales material for account managers and sales presentations
  • Processing customer purchase orders
  • Working with the Sales Team, when requested, to ensure orders have been raised accurately on the Sage 200 system
  • Providing customers with catalogues, samples and advance information sheets
  • Analysing sales, reviewing sales opportunities and making recommendations for growth areas as requested
  • Making travel arrangements for sales meetings with customers
  • Providing administrative support to the Sales Director and Managing Director
  • Working with the Sales Director in preparation for book fairs
  • Maintaining an up-to-date customer list
  • Assisting the Social Media Team in managing all social media accounts, making sure they are updated regularly
  • Offering general administrative support as required

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Skills and experience required for the Sales Support role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Flexibility to adjust to a dynamic work environment with ever-changing priorities
  • Excellent written, communication and social skills
  • Keen interest in developing strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Confidence and a persuasive manner
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work to budget
  • Good IT skills with experience using spreadsheets, database systems, Microsoft Word, e-mail and the internet
